A MAN suffered a head injury and a cut to his thigh after being threatened at knifepoint in an attempted robbery in South Elmsall.

Three suspects approached the victim at the rear of Moorhouse View and asked to use his mobile phone. When he refused, one man pulled out a knife and swung it towards the victim, who fell to the ground. The knife cut his thigh.

The second and third suspects made off but the first man banged the victim’s head as he lay on the ground, causing a head injury.

The first suspect then made off. Nothing was stolen from the victim.

The first suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, around 5ft 11inches tall, of medium build.

He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and had a bald head and a big nose.

The incident happened at around 11.50pm on Monday, December 12.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information should call Wakefield CID on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
