Police are appealing for information after property including jewellery was stolen in a burglary earlier this month.

The jewellery, which belonged to the victim’s late wife, was taken along with other property when thieves targeted a house on Half Penny Lane, Pontefract, on Friday March 25.

The jewellery included three rings which are of sentimental value.

Detective Inspector Tim Hunt, of Wakefield CID, said: “The rings were of sentimental value to the victim. Two of the rings, described as a 22ct gold wedding band and an 18ct gold solitaire engagement ring are irreplaceable. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Wakefield CID, via 101 quoting reference 13160108811 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
