MULTI-MILLION pound plans to revamp the Asda distribution centre in South Elmsall have been unveiled.
The supermarket giant’s £4.4m investment in the centre on Elmsall Way will upgrade the facility to speed up services.
It will accommodate more products and mean vehicles can pick up stock faster to transport it around the country.
And the investment may lead to more jobs in the future, the company told the Express.
Work has already started at the depot and it is set to re-open on February 21.
The refurbishment comes as part of the supermarket’s £500m project to expand the company across the UK.
This is set to include 25 new stores, refurbishing 43 existing outlets and investing in new depots. Asda said the entire scheme would create up to 5,000 jobs .
