Newfield Lodge residents and staff recreate Queen video 'I Want to Break Free' to show they're still smiling

The idea came about after the residents took part in the Thursday night Clap for the NHS, with staff and care workers wanting to create something outside the box to show their own appreciation.
Emily Waugh, activities coordinator at the Castleford care home, said: “We wanted to do something that would lift everyone's spirits, including the residents and their families who they can’t see.

“We just wanted to show everyone that we are all still smiling, while showing the residents' families that they’re all alright.
“Obviously it’s not a nice time for them having no visitors so we wanted to make them part of something special."
Once staff had finished filming, the care home’s maintenance man put the footage together into a video.
