FRICKLEY Athletic’s U19s squad has won the Northern U19 Alliance League Central Division title with two games to spare.
The South Elmsall side sealed their title triumph with an impressive 4-1 victory over Rossington Main on home soil.
The goals came thanks to Liam Schofield (2), Nick Guest and Liam Sanger and victory moved the young Blues a huge 12 points clear of nearest rivals Kinsley Boys, in second, with two games to go.
It also gave Frickley a crucial 14 point lead over third-placed Altofts, who still have four games to play.
The Tech5 Stadium side will be hoping their success doesn’t stop there - they could still complete a league and cup ‘double’ this season.
Pickering Town stand between them and a place in the League Cup final when they visit Westfield Lane for their last-four clash on Monday, March 19 (kick-off 7.45pm).
In the meantime, Frickley will play their penultimate league match at home against basement side Brodsworth Welfare next Monday (kick-off 7.45pm).
