Kinsley Raiders saw their Supplementary Cup hopes ended by higher-division Whinmoor at the quarter-final stage on Saturday.

Raiders, top of Pennine League Division 6, went down 30-18 at home against the high-flying Division 5 side.

Kinsley will look to quickly forget about that defeat when they host third-placed Sherburn Bears in the league this Saturday.

Upton saw their Division 1 promotion hopes dented by a shock 16-4 defeat at struggling Allerton Bywater.

The defeat left second-placed Upton six points behind leaders Methley Royals going into Saturday’s home match against Crigglestone All Blacks.

There was also a shock defeat for Ryhill Hammers in Division 6 as they went down 54-28 at Kings Cross Park A.

Cross had won only one league match going into the contest but put Hammers to the sword in convincing fashion.

Ryhill visit West Bowling A this Saturday.
