WAKEFIELD-BORN Warrington Wolves and England player Ben Westwood attended Upton ARLFC’s junior presentation night.

Westwood, a former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player from Normanton, handed out the end-of-season awards to Upton’s talented under-14s team.

He also paid special praise to the team’s four players who all gained scholarships with professional clubs this year.

Jack Arnold impressed Co-operative Championship side Featherstone Rovers enough to win a scholarship deal while Harley Axe was signed on by Castleford Tigers and Sheffield Eagles swooped to sign Jordan Taylor and Callum Ashforth.

Westwood handed out all the awards on the night and stayed to chat with Upton’s players and staff.
