FRICKLEY Athletic have secured the services of influential midfielder Danny Walsh for next season.
The 31-year-old has accepted the club’s offer of another year on his contract and he will remain at the Tech5 Stadium for the 2011-12 campaign.
Walsh becomes the first player to commit to the club for next season since Peter Rinkcavage, the Frickley manager, started talks with his squad over player retention.
Walsh has made 227 appearances for Frickley, scoring 24 goals in the process. Of last season’s squad, Only Dean Jones, with 335 appearances has pulled on the Blues’ shirt more times than the former Ossett Town and Bradford Park Avenue man.
