HEMSWORTH RUFC will look to regain top spot in Yorkshire Division 4 this weekend when they visit leaders Leeds Medics and Dentists.
The Moxon Fields side lost first place to this weekend’s opponents when they dropped points in a 15-15 draw against Harrogate Pythons on Saturday (see page 38 for report).
Mark Wilson’s men remain unbeaten from their first four league games, something Leeds can’t say.
Medics and Dentists have already lost one of their matches but take top spot thanks to picking up more bonus points so far this term.
But Wilson is still anticipating a tough test for his troops.
“They [Leeds] have lost once but they’re getting players back all the time because people are slowly returning to university,” he said.
“They’ll be a tough team this season there’s no doubt about it. There are only a few teams who I think have the players to beat us this season and they’re one of them, I’ve told the lads that, so we have to be at the top of our game.”
Leeds lost 20-8 at Old Grovians in their opening match of the season earlier this month but have won all three matches since.
Hemsworth will be without the influential Joe Thomspon for the clash.
Squad: Mark Mears, Key, Harrison, Jones, Hall, Coates, Briscoe, Dyas, Dale Joburns, Dean Joburns, Gorton, Hawcroft, Taylor, Jake Thompson, Jordan, Campbell, Sykes, Porritt, Neil Mears, Hooker.
