Unbeaten Hemsworth fighter Scott Askham will defend his UCFC (Ultimate Cage Fighting Championships) British Middleweight title against Jack Marshman at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium next month.

The 25-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) ace will enter the ring against the 23-year-old Welshman on Saturday, July 27, for what is set to be the biggest fight of his ever-improving career to date.

Askham, who trains out of Ludus Magnus Gym in Doncaster, clinched the title last August with a convincing victory over Mark Jones and three more wins since then have propelled him up the British MMA rankings.

His professional card reads a perfect ten wins and no defeats and a successful defence of his title in Doncaster could fire Askham up to fifth in the British rankings.

Marshman will prove tough opposition, however, with eleven wins and two defeats to his name, with eight of those wins coming from either knockout or technical knockout.

The bout is part of a huge bill at the 15,000-capacity Keepmoat Stadium, with big MMA names including Ian “The Machine” Freeman, Andre Winner, Ricco Rodriguez and South Elmsall’s Neil Wain also in action.

The event will also see hip-hop star Professor Green, Jay MYA and The Sunshine Underground performing at the venue.

Tickets are priced at £50 in advance and can be bought from Askham direct by calling 07584 250727.

Askham would like to thank his sponsors for their continued support. They are Millennium Motor Spares, The Injury Clinic, Hoyle Mill MOT Centre, Land Engineering Services, JY Nutrition, Heavy Duty Fight Gear and The Mouthguard Shop.
