Townville Tigers Juniors ARL’s annual gala on Saturday was a big success.

It attracted its biggest-ever attendance at the Tigers ground, off Poplar Avenue.

All Townville’s teams were in action against various opponents.

There were numerous other attractions and events.

They included tug-of-war, raffles, tombolas, horse rides, face and hair painting and kids rides .

The day started with an under sevens game between Townville and Castleford Panthers.

Both teams showed great enthusiasm in a match that Townville won 5-1.

Townville under eights then took on their Normanton Knights counterparts in a thrilling game.

Townville Tigers under nines competed magnificently in an enthralling match against the club’s under 11s. In the final match, the club’s under 13s took on a ‘Townville Tigers’ select team team comprising club coaches and dads.

In a touch-style game, the select side looked to be heading for victory until the under 13s finished strongly in the final quarter to earn a 4-4 draw.

Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers mascots both attended the gala. They were hugely appreciated by all the children who wanted to have their photographs taken with them.
