Castleford Tigers Supporters Club’s tenth anniversary dinner at the Magnet Hotel, Castleford, was a huge success.
Guests Jon Wells, Daryl Powell, Danny Orr and Steve and Kath Gill joined a sell out audience.
The event raised £563.63.
Over the last 10 years, CTSC has raised and donated £60,000 to the Tigers. This year they reached 500 members and there are nearly 5,500 members on Facebook.
After a superb dinner, Tigers head coach Powell spoke about pre season training and how the players, especially the new ones, had blended in well.
The club and CBR Engineering have put together a new gym building, with new fitness equipment, so the players can all be in the facility at the same time.
Powell asked CTSC members if they could raise funds to refurbish the old gym to make a wrestle room.
Former Tigers player and Sky TV pundit Wells praised the work done by the CTSC and the loyalty of the fans, many present who he recognised from his Castleford playing days.
Tigers assistant coach Orr conducted a question and answer session with the audience, covering the current squad and his own thoughts on the forthcoming season.
CTSC committee member Christine Taylor presented Wells, Powell, Orr and Tigers chief executive Steve Gill with new CTSC membership cards. As a thank you, the guests were also presented with a gift. The event also included a picture quiz, raffle, auction and karaoke.
A specially engraved glass was presented to Derek Whale who was a CTSC founder member in 2003.
Special thanks went to Michelle and the Magnet Hotel staff, everyone who attended to make it a special night and the CTSC committee for all their hard work.
