Castleford Tigers’ Andy Lynch – one of the stand-out stars of the club’s memorable Challenge Cup quarter-final win at Wigan – has started his testimonial events.
Lynch was granted a testimonial by the RFL after a career that has seen him play in Super League for the last 15 years. He signed his first professional contract at Castleford in 1996, went full-time in 1999 and following moves to Bradford Bulls and Hull FC he is back where it all began and still going strong as a key player in the current Tigers team.
His testimonial events began with a hog roast at Kippax Welfare last week and next up is a race night tonight (Friday) at Kippax Central.
Doors open for the fun family evening at 6pm with the first race at 6.30pm.
Horses are available to sponsor for £3 each and the winning horse of each race will win a bottle of wine.
If you or your business would like to buy a horse, email email@example.com
Other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Individual tickets are £3 each, with a family ticket for two adults and up to three children (u16s) at £10.
Future testimonial events include a men only sporting dinner at the Tigers ground, on Wheldon Road, on Friday, July 4 (start 7pm).
This will involve entertainment from Mick Morgan and a three-course meal with speakers, players and guests to be announced soon. There will also be an auction of some amazing items.
A ten-pin bowling night with a Castleford Tigers player takes place at Bowlplex Bowling, Glasshoughton on Tuesday, July 8 (5.45pm).
There is then a ladies night at Kippax Central on Saturday, July 26 (7pm) with Cas players as topless waiters.
A sportsman’s dinner involving a three-course meal and a question and answer session with Craig Huby, Justin Carney, Michael Shenton and Grant Millington, follows at Kippax Welfare on Friday, August 1.
