CASTLEFORD Tigers’ famous old ground, which has been the club’s home for 85 years, has been renamed the Wish Communications Stadium for 2013.
The club’s first season at Wheldon Road was 1927-28 after they purchased the ground from Castleford Town Football Club.
Since then, the ground has been renamed three times.
It was known as The Jungle after the club landed a sponsorship deal with computer company Jungle.com and more recently it was called Probiz Coliseum.
Wish Communications, who have signed a one-year stadium sponsorship deal, specialise in the supply of business-to-business communications solutions.
They will have their branding displayed on stadium roof lines and pitch perimeter in addition to its continued sponsorship of the ground’s hospitality suite.
The company name will also feature on Castleford’s home and away shirts.
Tigers commercial manager Nick Fozzard said: “Wish Communications has been a sponsor since 2010 and we are delighted they have increased their sponsorship with us next season.”
Phil Butts, sales director at Wish Communications said: “We are really pleased to continue our support of the Tigers and raise our profile further as stadium sponsor for 2013.
“It will be our third year with the club and we are proud to be one of its leading sponsors.”
The announcement comes after the Tigers past the half way mark in their bid for 5,000 members.
Fozzard said: “With our main sponsors now confirmed and half of our target memberships achieved, we are making great strides towards where we need to be.
“Nevertheless, we maintain that 5,000 members are required to ensure the Tigers can return as a competitive force in 2013.
“There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to get us to this point and we hope those fans that haven’t yet signed up are starting to recognise our efforts.”
