PETER Rinkcavage's final game in charge of Frickley Athletic ended in defeat as Worksop Town, his former club, edged the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup final 3-2 at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.

Goals either side of half-time saw the Tigers come from behind to lift the trophy at Sheffield Wednesday's home ground but the Blues pushed their Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals all the way.

Rinkcavage's men got a helping hand just nine minutes in when a mix-up between Worksop goalkeeper Mario Ziccardi and Marc Roberts allowed Bradley Grayson the easiest of opening goals.

Worksop worked their way back into the game and got their reward ten minutes later when Jamie Jackson produced a neat finish to beat Frickley stopper Stephen Dickinson and get his side back on level terms.

The Blues had penalty appeals for a push on Danny South turned down two minutes later but Frickley looked to be taking a lead into the half-time interval when Cecil Nyoni, on-loan from Sheffield Wednesday, smashed the ball home from close range following a James Ashmore free-kick five minutes before the break.

They couldn't hold out until the interval however, as a superb 25-yard left-footed effort from Owain Warlow gave Dickinson no chance and rustled into the bottom corner of the Frickley goal to send the teams into the break on level terms.

And Town hit the Blues with a sucker punch just a minute after the restart when Jamie Jackson headed home to claw the Tigers ahead for the first time in the game.

It proved enough to see Worksop lift the cup. Frickley did have chances but they were few and far between, South coming inches away from connecting to a superb inswinging cross from Grant Darley while the former also had a second penalty claim waved away.

If anything, Worksop could have added to their lead with the dangerous Warlow coming close on three occasions.
