Ten-man Frickley hit for four at Ferriby

TEN-man Frickley Athletic were put to the sword in emphatic fashion as promotion-chasing North Ferriby United inflicted a 4-0 defeat on the Blues last night.

The Blues went into the tough Evo-Stik Premier Division match in high spirits following their thumping 6-3 win at Ashton United at the weekend.

But they were brought back down to earth just four minutes in when Chris Bolder opened the scoring for the hosts.

Peter Rinkcavage’s men fought their way back into the contest and enjoyed long spells of possession without really troubling the home goalkeeper.

But a defensive lapse from the South Elmsall side allowed Alex Davidson to double Ferriby’s lead just after the half-hour mark.

The Blues were still in the game at the start of the second half but were left with a mountain to climb when Charlie Fisher was sent-off for a second bookable offence.

Gary Bradshaw added Ferriby’s third before Russell Fry’s superb 30-yard effort completed the victory for fourth-placed Ferriby.
