Featherstone Rovers began their build-up to the Kingstone Press Championship Shield final when they held their annual club awards event in the Cappers Bar at the Big Fellas Stadium on Monday night.
The ever consistent Tim Spears took home the top prize, the club’s player of the year, but there were two trophies for impressive young player Jordan Baldwinson and one for winger Will Sharp.
Head coach Jon Sharp, who presented one of the awards, said it was an enjoyable night.
He said: “The awards night was a really good end to the year, really positive with deserved award winners.
“Tim Spears won the player of the year award not just for his performances but for the things he does off the field as well. His commitment to the club, his support for his fellow players and coaches has been outstanding.
“Jordan was an obvious choice having won the competition’s young player of the year at the Kingstone Press awards night. He was a shoe in for that award and that capped off a really good year for him.”
