SOUTH Kirkby Cricket Club will play host to Yorkshire’s stars of the future next month.

Yorkshire U15s B will take on their Warwickshire counterparts at the club’s Millars Walk ground on Sunday, July 15.

The Pontefract League club have a long-standing relationship with Yorkshire - it’ll be the 12th time South Kirkby have hosted a Yorkshire youth match.

And it’ll be the second year on the spin that Warwickshire will have visited the Pontefract League club.

“Warwickshire said they enjoyed it so much last time that they wanted to come back, it’s obviously great news for the club,” said chairman Reg Mills.

“We had a great day last year. The weather was really nice and we had a great turnout so hopefully it’ll be the same this time.”

Yorkshire won last year’s contest between the two sides at South Kirkby.

Kirkby are hoping for a strong turnout for this year’s match.

Entry is free of charge and wickets are pitched at 11.30am. Refreshments will be available throughout the match and a commemorative programme will be on sale.
