Castleford Tigers players have come in for praise from head coach Daryl Powell for their impressive attacking display against Wakefield Wildcats.

Powell was pleased his side bounced back from defeat at Hull FC the previous week as they ran in 10 tries in their 58-20 victory at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

He said: “It was obviously a crucial game for us at Wakefield, we needed to win it and we played some pretty smart rugby league once we got going.

“It was a tough start for us, but once we got our teeth into the game we did some pretty special things.

“We looked really sharp in attacking field position.

“I thought it was Luke Dorn’s best game since he got back and on the end of some of our plays he looked electric.

“Justin Carney’s finishing was outstanding as well.

“I thought just as a team we did some really high quality things with the ball.

“Our left side was superb and Luke Gale’s passing game, the deception of it and the decision making, accuracy and weight of everything he did was absolutely superb.”

Powell was pleased with the contribution again of back row forward Junior Moors, who has been impressive in recent weeks since being restored to the side after a blip in form.

He added: “Junior Moors is really playing well at the moment, he’s really acquitting himself well.

“His skill set is very good, his decision making when to use his ability is really good and his pass selection has become much better.

“He’s a big man and a big threatening player when he’s carrying the ball so he’s got variety in his game and what he’s doing is really good at the moment.

“He’s been like quite a few of our players in that it was difficult for him in terms of settling down and bedding in, fitting in to how we play. But our game’s evolved a little bit and they’ve gone with us and we’ve gone with them to fit together quite neatly.

“Some of the things Junior’s doing along with some of the other players that have come into the side is really helping us to improve as a team.”
