Trialists Craig Fagan and Dean Burton have been included in Scunthorpe United’s squad to travel to Frickley Athletic tonight (kick-off 7pm).

The Blues will welcome the Iron for their second pre-season friendly of the summer after facing Doncaster Rovers at Westfield Lane last time out.

And Brian Laws’ men will offer more Football League class for Frickley to contend with, with former Hull City hitman Craig Fagan and former Sheffield Wednesday striker Deon Burton named in the Iron squad.

The pair both featured in Scunthorpe’s friendly defeat against the Owls at the weekend and both are set to be given another chance to impress Laws and earn a contract at Glanford Park.

Defender Callum Howe, who enjoyed a loan spell with Frickley last season, has also been named in the Scunthorpe squad, while South Elmsall-born Russ Wilcox will make a welcome return as United’s assistant manager.

Tickets for the match are available on the turnstiles and are priced £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
