KEVIN Sanasy hit a hat-trick to guide Frickley Athletic to their biggest Evo-Stik Premier Division win of the season with an emphatic 6-3 victory at Ashton United on Saturday.
Peter Rinkcavage recalled Sanasy to the starting eleven and the Blues boss was rewarded for his decision with a top-class treble which hauled Frickley out of the Premier Division bottom four.
A Ben Smith own goal 12 minutes in gifted the Blues the opener in Lancashire before Ryan Crowther levelled for the hosts.
Sanasy hit a brace before half-time to give the South Elmsall club a two-goal cushion at the break, but Crowther hit his second seven minutes into the second half to narrow the gap.
Another own goal, this time from Ian Bennett just after the hour mark, put Frickley in control and Ashley Burbeary’s 70th-minute strike looked to have all-but sealed the three points for the Blues.
And, after Aaron Burns had pulled another goal back for the hosts in a thrilling contest, Sanasy completed his treble in the 90th-minute.
The victory was Frickley’s first since the start of November when they enjoyed a 2-1 home win against Northwich Victoria and will give them a big boost ahead of Tuesday night’s tough trip to North Ferriby United.
