Rovers turn on style in 10-try win

Featherstone Rovers stepped up the pressure on Kingstone Press Championship leaders Leigh by hammering Rochdale Hornets 56-6 at Big Fellas Stadium on Sunday.

Tongan Etu Uaisele, making his home debut, scored three tries and Gareth Moore landed eight conversions as Rovers condemned promoted Rochdale to a third successive defea.

Uaisele’s fellow winger Will Sharp bagged two tries and Ian Hardman, Kyle Briggs, Andy Ellis, Ben Hellewell and Greg Worthington also crossed in a game Rovers dominated from the start, serving up some delightful rugby and scoring cleverly created tries.

They led 28-0 at half-time and were 50-0 up in thr second-half before Anthony Walker scored Rochdale’s solitary try.
