Featherstone Rovers have signed former Hull and London Broncos winger Will Sharp (pictured) and taken Wakefield second rower Frankie Mariano on loan.

Nigeria-born Sharp, 26, who has recently been playing rugby union for Doncaster, has signed a contract to the end of the season and is set to make his debut alongside Mariano in Sunday’s home game against with Kingstone Press Championship leaders Halifax.

Featherstone chief executive Craig Poskitt said: “We are delighted that Frankie has opted to join Featherstone Rovers as we understand that a couple of Super League clubs were also interested.

“Together with the signing of Will Sharp, we have shown that we are in the market place for quality players and are always looking to improve our squad.”
