Featherstone Rovers prop Colton Roche was suspended for three matches and fined £100 at Tuesday’s RFL disciplinary tribunal.
Roche pleaded guilty to a reckless tackle on Workington’s Callum Phillips in a recent Championship game at Big Fellas Stadium.
Roche was sin-binned in the 23rd minute for the offence.
Giving their reasons for the ban and fine, the tribunal stated: “Having viewed the DVD there is no doubt this was a reckless act by the player who had no intention to go for the ball.
“It was direct contact with the opponents head after the ball had been played. It was an unpleasant act.”
