Featherstone Rovers are exploring the feasibility of going full-time next season.

“It’s got to stack up figures wise but it’s something we are looking into,” said Rovers coach Andy Hay.

“If the structure stays the same next year there are good reasons to do it but also some drawbacks.

“If we can do it, I’m sure it will benefit everyone and if we can’t, we’ll have to look at other strategies.

“We are hopeful we’ll be able to get somewhere with going full-time next year.

“You can see how it’s benefited other clubs, not just with the way you perform on the field but with the players you can attract who want to be in a full-time environment. We have probably missed out on a couple of targets just because of that.

“We want to give ourselves every chance of being the best we can be and that might be part of the future of Featherstone going forward.”
