Featherstone’s marketing campaign for the visit of Kingstone Press Championship leaders Halifax last Sunday paid dividends when more than 3,600 spectators saw the game.

Rovers chief executive Craig Poskitt (pictured) said: “We would like to thank both sets of supporters for their attendance.

“The atmosphere they created was brilliant and in return they were rewarded with a great spectacle which was a fantastic advert for the Kingstone Press Championship especially with RFL chairman Brian Barwick and Blake Solly present.

“The quality on show was equal to or better than many Super League matches this year which is a credit to both teams.

“We were delighted with the attendance of 3,686 and hope this is a sign of things to come. It was greater than two Super League fixtures on the same weekend which is a positive sign of the potential we have at Featherstone Rovers.”
