HEMSWORTH MW have showcased their never-say-die spirit by twice coming from behind to remain unbeaten in their opening friendly fixtures.
Welfare kicked-off their summer friendly matches with a 3-2 victory over Parkgate last week before drawing 2-2 with Sheffield FC on Tuesday night.
The Fitzwilliam Sports Complex club were trailing 2-1 against Parkgate, with Jon Impey netting the Welfare goal, before two goals in the last ten minutes turned the game on its head.
Glynn Wright levelled things in the 82nd minute before experienced striker Andy Hayward netted the winner with a minute to spare.
It was a similar story on Tuesday night when Evo-Stik Premier League side Sheffield FC were the visitors to Fitzwilliam.
The visitors were 2-0 to the good after 50 minutes thanks to a brace of Shane Kelsey strikes.
Craig Wilkinson pulled a goal back for Hemsworth with eight minutes to go before Vinny Dawson levelled in the 88th minute.
Welfare continue their preparations for the forthcoming Baris Northern Counties East League (NCEL) campaign by hosting Ossett Town today (kick-off 2pm).
A home clash against South Kirkby Colliery follows on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30pm.
Hemsworth MW Reserves will host Stanley United on Wednesday, kick-off 6.45pm.
Hemsworth’s provisional fixtures for the 2011-12 NCEL season have been released.
Welfare have been given a favourable run of home matches to kick start the season.
They’ll host Louth Town for their season opener on Saturday, August 6 (kick-off 3pm) and follow it up with four more home matches.
An FA Cup extra preliminary round clash against Tadcaster Albion, also at home, is sandwiched between on Saturday, August 20 (kick-off 3pm).
Welfare have been drawn on home soil in the FA Vase second qualifying round against Barton Town Old Boys on Saturday, September 29 (kick-off 3pm).
They visit AFC Emley in the first round of the League Cup on Tuesday, September 13.
Welfare will visit Yorkshire Amateur for their festive fixture on Christmas Eve and will then take a break until Saturday, January 7 when they make the return trip to Louth.
Welfare wrap-up their league campaign at home against Pontefract Collieries on Saturday, April 28 (kick-off 3pm).
