Featherstone Rovers second-row forward Tim Spears is ready to make his first-team comeback.
Spears made a successful return to action after shoulder surgery in an under 20s friendly against Halifax and is now available for a first-team recall.
Rovers coach Daryl Powell (pictured) said: “We’ve a short turn round next week, playing Whitehaven on Sunday and Keighley next Thursday, so I will looking to utilise the full squad for those two games and Tim Spears will probably play in one of the two matches.”
Back-rower Matty Dale will be available for Sunday’s trip to Whitehaven after missing the win against Hunslet with a shoulder injury but Jack Bussey (shoulder) is still doubtful.
Powell will be checking on skipper Liam Finn who was taken off in the second-half against Hunslet with an eye injury.
“Liam got a scratch on his eye but hopefully he’s going to be okay,” said the Rovers boss.
“He had an x-ray because we thought he might have done some damage to the bone structure above the eye but he’s okay with that.
“It will just be a case of checking on his vision and making sure he is all right.”
Powell is pleased Rovers remain unbeaten this season but he is still looking for an improvement after disappointing second-half performances in the last two matches against Hunslet Hawks and Barrow Raiders.
