Only recently The Oaks' James Walker won the Selborne Salver while Yorkshire champion Jame Bower (Meltham GC) enjoyed a hugely successful six-week tour of South Africa, which produced two victories - in the Gauteng North Open and Southern Cape Open - that helped hoist him into the world's top 50 amateurs.

Here Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs president Jonathan Plaxton talks about the county's successes and hopes for 2016.
