FEATHERSTONE Town Cricket Club are one of only a handful of clubs in the area involved in a new programme called All-Stars Cricket.

The national scheme, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board, hopes to introduce nationally 30,000 children to cricket who have never played the sport.

It will provide children aged five to eight with all the fundamental skills they need to play.

Through lively, fun games, they will learn about cricket and be better prepared to take part in all sports.

By registering for All Stars Cricket, children will be guaranteed eight weeks of jam-packed fun, activity and skills development. The programme is suitable for all children new to cricket and sport as the sessions are designed to teach the basic skills of the game.

All Stars Cricket is also excellent for parents. For an hour a week, all mums and dads are invited to get involved and play cricket with their children.

Every child that registers for the programme will receive a bonus participant pack, including backpack, cricket bat, cricket ball, personalised shirt with name, cap and water bottle

The cost is £40 per child. Featherstone Town CC are running the programme on Tuesdays from May 23 to July 11 (5 to 6pm).
