HEMSWORTH mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Scott Askham recorded the biggest win of his career so far when he defeated Denniston ‘Mad Max’ Sutherland last Saturday.

Askham, 24, made it eight wins from eight professional fights with a three-round success against the former UCMMA middleweight champion at the Cage Warriors Fighting Championships in Glasgow.

Askham was forced to go the distance for the first time in his professional career but Sutherland had no answer to the Hemsworth man who won all three rounds.

Askham said: “It went really well for me and it’s definitely the biggest win of my career.

“It was a tough fight and he came back at me in the second but it went to plan and to get three rounds in the bag is great experience.”

Beating Sutherland, ranked 11th in the UK MMA middleweight division, will certainly improve Askham’s ranking of 26th and could lift him into the top-10 going into the new year.
