FRICKLEY Athletic’s hit-and-miss form continued to haunt them on Saturday as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at Mickleover Sports.

The heavy loss plunged the Blues back into the Evo-Stik Premier Division bottom three and came just four days after their encouraging 1-0 home win against Worksop Town.

Frickley boss Peter Rinkcavage gave a debut to midfielder Grant Darley, who arrived at South Elmsall on-loan from Rotherham United.

But the Blues struggled throughout and found themselves 2-0 down at half-time thanks to a brace from Karl Ashton.

Liam Walshe sealed Mickleover’s victory with eight minutes to go to leave Frickley in the relegation places ahead of Tuesday night’s home clash against Kendal Town.
