Featherstone Rovers boss Daryl Powell is keen for his side to show they can live with Super League opposition again in the Challenge Cup.
Monday’s fourth round draw handed Rovers a tough task as they were paired with Super League opposition in a tie away to London Broncos on Saturday, April 20 (kick-off 3pm).
But after beating Castleford and running Wigan close last year, Powell wants more cup heroics.
He told the Express: “The cup draw gives us another chance to test ourselves against Super League opposition. Obviously we are away from home and that presents different challenges going down to London.
“But it gives us an opportunity to show where we’re at.
“We’ve got another game before that and it’s important we focus on that, but it’s a good draw and we’re happy that we can challenge ourselves again.
“We played well in the Challenge Cup last year, but there’s certainly no guarantee that we will be able to do it this year.
“It’s about making sure you prepare in the right way. I’ll have a look at them against Leeds this weekend and hopefully we can come up with another high quality performance like we did against Castleford and Wigan last year.”
