London coach Andrew Henderson praised Featherstone’s defence after the Broncos snatched a 20-12 win with three late tries in Monday’s Kingstone Press Championship game at West Ealing.

Rovers, who have the Championship’s best defensive record with just 106 points conceded in seven games, led until the closing stages despite being badly disrupted by injuries to Kyle Briggs, Colton Roche and John Davies and having a 15-7 penalty account against them.

Former Castleford Tigers player Henderson said: “Some of Featherstone’s defence was awesome at times, so fair play to them.

“They were awesome, and they made life really difficult for us.”

London are third in the table, two points ahead of Featherstone, who have a game in hand.

Henderson added: “If you’d told me at the start of the season we’d have six wins from eight, I would’ve taken that. We’re on course for our targets, we’re still unbeaten in the league at home and that means a lot to the players.”
