Upton bag first Premier Division win of 2010 against Dewsbury Moor

Upton 32 Dewsbury Moor 12 UPTON bagged their first victory of 2010 with a convincing win against Dewsbury Moor at Quarry Lane.

The hosts were impressive throughout the 80 minutes and throughly deserved their Yorkshire League Premier Division success.

Moor held the upper hand in the opening exchanges and enjoyed a 10-4 lead, Steve Froggett replying for the hosts.

From then on it was all Upton as Ash Wild crossed the whitewash for a quickfire brace to give the Quarry Lane club a lead they were never to relinquish.

The visitors levelled with a penalty but man of the match Steven Beal converted his own try to give Upton an 18-12 half-time lead.

And the hosts nilled Dewsbury on the resumption, while adding further points through a brace of tries from Liam Hobson and a Sam Bishop effort.
