Tigers thrashed and lose Clark with knee injury

CASTLEFORD’S season took another turn for the worse with Sunday’s 70-12 defeat at Hull KR and the loss of star hooker Daryl Clark (pictured) with what could be a long-term knee injury.

Clark left Craven Park on crutches and Tigers coach Ian Millward said: “It’s not good. He’s out for a long while. He’s done his knee.”

Millward admitted he was “very disappointed” with his side’s performance.

“We were not up to Super League standard,” he added.

“I take my hat off to Hull KR, but we were poor. It was one of the worst defensive performances I have seen for a long time.”

Millward denied it was anything to do with missing players, adding: “It wasn’t down to us having our halves out.

“Everyone was quite soft. We didn’t stick to our structure and I feel sorry for our fans.

“But the fans are very intelligent and they don’t need me to sugar coat it. They’re very loyal, but we need to turn things around.”

The Tigers remain six points adrift of the play-off places and they are out of the Challenge Cup.
