Sweet revenge for Feather-stunners as title rivals Halifax are outplayed
CHAMPIONS Featherstone are the new Co-operative Championship leaders after stretching their winning league run to six games by beating Halifax 24-4 at The Shay tonight.
Rovers avenged last month's 60-12 home defeat against Halifax with a magnificent defensive display.
Featherstone, aiming to lift the League Leaders Shield for the third year running, are two points clear at the top after producing a stunning performance to deny title rivals Fax even a bonus point.
Halifax finished a well beaten side and their only points came from Wayne Rettie's try on the stroke of half-time.
Tries by Liam Finn (three minutes) and Matty Dale (30) put Rovers 12-4 up at the break.
They sealed victory when on-loan Andy Ellis scored seven minutes into the second-half and Greg Worthington (pictured) crossed three minutes from time, with Finn adding his fourth conversion.
