Rovers trio make debuts at Oldham
CLOSE-season signings Tangi Ropati (pictured), James Lockwood and Nathan Freer will make their Featherstone Rovers debuts in tonight’s (Wednesday) Northern Rail Cup group match at Oldham (8pm kick-off).
The game at Whitebank Stadium was re-arranged for tonight after being postponed last Sunday because of a frozen pitch.
Samoan international Ropati is on the wing, former Dewsbury Rams player Lockwood starts at prop and ex-York City Knights forward Freer is on the subs bench.
Half-back Kyle Briggs is on the bench for his first match since he returned to Featherstone on a one-year loan deal from Bradford Bulls.
Featherstone’s line-up tonight is:
Hardman; Ropati, Smeaton, Worthington, Saxton; Kain, Finn; Dickens, Kaye, Lockwood, Grayshon, Spears, Dale, Substitutes: Freer, Haley, Bostock, Briggs.
