Rovers coach praises Hardman’s display
FEATHERSTONE Rovers coach Daryl Powell was delighted with centre Ian Hardman’s first-half display in Sunday’s pre-season game at Castleford Tigers.
Hardman (pictured), who was switched from full-back to centre because of injuries in the threequarters, scored Featherstone’s first try before he was taken off at half-time with a hamstring injury.
Powell said: “Ian is a full-back not a centre but he’s had a couple of halves against Super League teams at centre and been fantastic.
“Ian’s hamstring tightened up at half-time. He’d been having a little bit of trouble through the week. I thought it was sensible to take him from the field and not do any further damage.
