Patched-up Blues look to complete Kendal Town double

FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage will take his patched-up squad to in-form Kendal Town looking to upset the formbook once again on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

An understrength Blues side has arrested a worrying slide towards the Evo-Stik Premier Division drop zone thanks to four points from high-flying Chorley and Northwich Victoria.

A trip to Cumbria will provide a similar tough test for the South Elmsall side, but one Rinkcavage believes his men can get something out of.

“It’s going to be a very tough test for us on Saturday,” he admitted.

“Kendal are one of the form sides of the division at the moment.

“But there’s no reason why we can’t go there and return with something from the game.”

The Blues beat Town 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the Tech5 Stadium in November but both sides have endured differing fortunes since that day.

Frickley have slipped down the league table while Kendal have moved in the other direction.

However, results over the last few weeks will lift spirits at the Tech5 Stadium.

Frickley are also set to be boosted with the return from illness of creative spark James Ashmore

“It was a blow to lose James last week,” said Rinkcavage.

“We missed his creative presence, he’s the guy who makes us tick.”

The Blues boss is expected to be without striker Brad Grayson, who sustained an injury in the stalemate with Northwich, and Peter Knox.

Danny South will also spend another week on trial with League of Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk FC.
