KINSLEY Boys kicked-off their Doncaster Senior League Premier Division campaign in four-star fashion at the weekend.

Sean Hammonds was the star of the show with a hat-trick while Charlie Williams also netted in the comfortable win.

South Elmsall United suffered a 3-1 defeat against Rossington Main in their Premier Division opener.

Adrian Howe was the United marksman but his strike proved only to be a consolation.

South Kirkby Colliery’s task of getting something from their first fixture of the season at title holders Sutton Rovers was always going to be a tough and so it proved.

Colliery suffered a 3-0 loss with Leon Tarry netting twice and Luke Chambers adding a third for the champions.

Newcomers Shafton Villa wee the big winners of the day, putting in a freescoring performance to beat Carcroft Village 12-2.

Ben Pearson and Bayden Lockwood both his hat-tricks, while Adam Story and James Thompson scored two apiece and John Clarke and Adam Fretwell also got on the scoresheet.

A local derby between Hemsworth MW and South Kirkby Town kicked-off the Division One season.

And it was Welfare who secured maximum points, and the bragging rights, with a thumping 5-1 win. Andrew Davis scored a brace of goals and Lee Wagstaff, Paul Cooper and Nigel Beardow completed the rout.

Jack Hinchcliffe scored Town’s consolation goal.

Denaby Main put in a five-star performance to see off Newton Arms 5-1 in their season opener.

Swinton Athletic edged out FC Central by the odd goal in three, while Rovers Foundation edged a close-fought seven-goal thriller against Scawthorpe Scorpions.
