Home form the key for Frickley

HOME form is the key for Frickley Athletic if they're to pull themselves away from the UniBond Premier Division relegation spots, according to boss Billy Heath.

The Blues are set to play their first home match in seven weeks this Saturday when Marine are the visitors to the Tech5 Stadium (kick-off 3pm).

And after an impressive 0-0 stalemate at FC United of Manchester last time out for the Blues, Heath is keen to make home advantage count this weekend.

"If we get a couple of wins from these matches the picture will soon change," he said.

"Our home form has got to be good if we're to stay in this division so we have to make sure we put in a good performance against Marine on Saturday."

Frickley saw their scheduled home clash against Nantwich Town controversially postponed last weekend due to a frozen pitch.

And Heath is hoping the referee has no problem with the Westfield Lane pitch this weekend.

The Blues have no fresh injury or suspension concerns going into the clash with Marine.

And he could well have some new faces in to bolster his squad.

"We have a couple of irons in the fire and hopefully we'll have some new players in time for Saturday," he revealed.

Frickley will hold a bucket collection at Saturday's match in memory of Rifleman Luke Farmer, of Upton, who was killed in Afghanistan.

The whole of the Blues squad will also be donating some of their wages this week.
