HEAD coach Mark Wilson is preparing for a return to action and maximum points when his Hemsworth RUFC side host Leeds Corinthians in Yorkshire Division Four on Saturday.

Hemsworth have seen their last two matches postponed due to the cold weather and have been kicking their heels to get back out on the pitch following defeat against leaders Leeds Medics and Dentists last time out.

Their league game at Old Otliensians was postponed for the second week running on Saturday and has been rearranged for Saturday, February 25 - meaning their Yorkshire Silver Trophy clash with Redcar has been put back. A new date has yet to be confirmed.

Wilson’s focus is on Saturday’s crucial clash with second-bottom Corinthians, however, and he’s looking for nothing less than maximum points from the game.

“They’ve improved since we beat them at their place but I’m still wanting the win and the bonus point,” he said.

“They’re still struggling but they’re not getting beat as heavily as they were earlier in the season so it’ll be a test for us.”

Hemsworth’s two-week break has given key players such as Danny Key, Dale Harrison, Rob Hooker, Gavin Sykes and Dave Gorton the chance to return to fitness in time for this weekend’s game.

Joe Thompson will also be available to feature.

Matt Hall and Guy Pickett’s are Hemsworth’s only injured players.

Saturday’s match kicks-off at 2.15pm.
