Hemsworth looking for bumper crowd for top-of-the-table clash with Leeds

HEMSWORTH RUFC head coach Mark Wilson is calling on the people of Hemsworth to come along and support his men in their crunch top-of-the-table clash with Leeds Medics and Dentists this weekend.

Hemsworth enjoyed the support of a strong band of followers for their vital 5-0 victory at Harrogate Pythons at the weekend.

And Wilson, who’s led his men to second in Yorkshire Division Four, is hoping for similar strong backing when the league leaders arrive at Moxon Fields on Saturday (kick-off 2.15pm).

“It’d be nice for the lads to get some more local spectators down for Saturday’s game, it’d be a good boost,” he said.

“We’re playing some great rugby at the moment and Saturday is a vital game.

“We had around 50 travel with us to Harrogate to support us which was great backing for us and hopefully we can get more support for our home matches.”

Hemsworth will be out for revenge after falling to a 30-13 defeat in Leeds in the reverse fixture.

“It’s payback time,” said Wilson.

“It’s going to be a tough match but the lads are all buoyant with the form they’re in and we know we can beat anyone.”

Leeds lead the way by three points over the Moxon Fields men.

Dale Harrison (thigh) is set to undergo a late fitness test.

Entry to Saturday’s game is free.
