A CHRIS Waddle-inspired Hallam Old Boys gained revenge on Minsthorpe in the Sheffield Wragg Over-40s League at the weekend.

Old Boys ran out 4-1 winners, just weeks after Minsthorpe had inflicted a shock 2-1 defeat on the Sheffield side.

Hallam led 2-0 at half-time and added a third goal on the break shortly after the restart, but a Nick Naylor header gave the hosts some hope.

Old Boys secured their win five minutes from time with their fourth.

Minsthorpe will look to bounce back when they host Reresby Arms on Saturday, players to meet at 1pm for a 2pm kick-off.

The Nags had to settle for a share of the spoils against Denaby United Reserves in the Over-35s League Division 2A.

John Kelly bagged the goal for struggling Nags, who travel to Manor Castle this weekend.

Kinsley Old Boys suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat against Sheffield FC in the Premier Division.

Old Boys are back in action at home against HSBC Bank on Saturday.

Soldiers return to Division 1A action on Saturday with a trip to Penistone Church.
