Blues ease by Yorkshire Amateurs

Yorkshire Amateurs 1 Frickley Athletic 4 FRICKLEY Athletic eased by Yorkshire Amateurs in a friendly match on Saturday.

Luke Malcher, Chris Davies, Adam Lee and Nathan Perkes grabbed the goals against the Northern Counties East League side in what was a good workout for Billy Heath's men.

Heath rang the changes for the clash, with Lee Booth and Jack Nodder starting in defence and Grant Normington and Pat McGuire forming an unlikely partnership in midfield for the visitors.

But the experimental changes worked well for the South Elmsall club as Malcher fired them ahead early on.

Former Frickley striker Curtis Barnard twice came close for the battling hosts.

But it was the Blues who doubled their advantage going into the break when Davies curled a superb free-kick into the back of the net.

Leon Henry was hauled down on the resumption and Adam Lee stepped up to fire home the resulting penalty as the Blues continued to dominate.

The hosts did pull a consolation goal back through Barnard late on.

But Frickley wrapped up the win when substitite Nathan Perkes grabbed a fourth.

Frickley host Ossett Albion in a friendly at the Tech5 Stadium tomorrow night, kick-off 7.45pm.
