Blues’ cup clash with FC United of Manchester gets green light

FRICKLEY Athletic has confirmed tonight’s Doodson Cup quarter-final clash against FC United of Manchester at the Tech5 Stadium will definitely go ahead.
The original fixture was postponed last week due to a frozen pitch in South Elmsall and the recent cold snap has forced the postponement of the majority of Evo-Stik Premier League matches over the last two weeks.
The cup clash with Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals United was quickly rearranged and rising temperatures since the weekend has allowed the Westfield Lane pitch to recover in time for tonight’s game.
It’ll be the first of two meetings between the sides in the space of five days - the Blues make the trip to Gigg Lane in the league on Saturday.
Peter Rinkcavage and his men will look to bag the first blow tonight and progress to the last four of the knock-out competition.
Tonight’s game kicks-off at 7.45pm.
See this week’s Hemsworth and South Elmsall Express for full match report.
