FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage is keeping everything crossed that some of his walking wounded are passed fit to face Mickleover Sports in the crucial Evo-Stik Premier Division clash on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

The Blues had five players playing through the pain barrier in last weekend’s creditable 1-1 draw at Kendal Town and Rinkcavage will assess their fitness in tonight’s (Thursday) training session.

Lincoln Adams (hamstring) will miss out through suspension but Danny Walsh (back), Grant Darley (ankle), Ryan Mallon (hip) and Danny South (thigh) will all have a fitness test before the clash with Sports.

Rinkcavage is hoping the four eligible players are passed fit in what he’s described as a big game for his troops this weekend.

“If we get a good result it’ll put a bit of daylight between us and them,” said the Blues boss.

“I don’t think it’s going to be an easy game. They’re a good side but they’re suffering a bit of a blip at the moment.

“All teams in this division pose a dangerous threat.”

Ollie Ryan will join Adams in the stands through suspension but Kelvin Bleau could return after missing the game at Kendal through illness.

Rinkcavage has been pleased with his side’s recent form but one area he is looking for an improvement in is goals.

“The performances over the last few games haven’t been that different to what they were like before,” he admitted.

“We’ve managed to score a few more goals but we’ve still not scored as many as I’d like from open play.

“It was another set-piece on Saturday and need to score goals more often it’s as simple as that.”
