Blues come from behind to bag North Ferriby victory

Frickley Athletic 2 North Ferriby United 1 FRICKLEY Athletic showed all their battling qualities as they came from behind to seal three vital points against high-flying North Ferriby United on Saturday.

Sitting second-bottom of the UniBond Premier Division going into the game, boss Billy Heath knew the importance of the clash with United, and Tuesday's visit of Kings Lynn.

With a strong wind in their favour at the Tech5 Stadium, the visitors enjoyed the better of the first half.

Former Blues striker Rob Pell twice came close to breaking the deadlock, while Chris White saw the best chance come and go for Frickley with a long-range free-kick which went high and wide.

It was Pell who helped North Ferriby grab the opening goal as the game burst into life with just over 20 minutes to go.

Pell was brought down by Frickley stopper Adam Nicklin inside the box, and Gary Bradshaw stepped up to fire the visitors into a 68th minute lead.

Heath had to make changes to try and change the game, and it was the introduction of Lee Morris on 74 minutes, for Chris Davies, that did just that.

Morris poked home an equaliser from a Chris White free-kick less than a minute after his intruduction.

And White turned from provider to match winner six minutes later when he lashed a 35-yard free-kick inside the post to give the Blues all three points.

Heath will be hoping his troops can make it two wins in four days when Kings Lynn make the trip to the Tech5 Stadium on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.45pm.
