Barnsley boss Hill left to rue ‘boring’ performance

BARNSLEY manager Keith Hill was left to rue a “boring” performance as his Reds side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Watford on Saturday.

John Eustace scored twice to give the Hornets all three points and leave the Tykes with a long trip back up the M1.

New signing Scott Golbourne scored Barnsley’s consolation goal on his debut but it proved the only high point for an otherwise dull clash for Hill.

“It was very boring and not great to watch,” he said.

“I thought about getting on the motorway to avoid the storm after 10 minutes. That’s how bad it was.”

He added: “Their first goal summed up the game. There was an air shot, two mis-hits and then the goal. The cardinal sin was to concede the second goal like we did.”

The defeat leaves Barnsley 15th in the Championship.
